We are looking for a Backend Engineer to join the core infrastructure team at TaskForge. You will design and build the systems that power our pipeline execution engine, API layer, and data processing infrastructure — working at a scale that challenges conventional backend patterns.

About the role

‍

You will be embedded in the platform team, responsible for the services that sit at the heart of TaskForge. This means working on distributed task queues, high-throughput API endpoints, data ingestion pipelines, and the reliability systems that keep everything running. Your work will directly impact every customer who depends on TaskForge to process their data and run their AI workloads.

What you will do

‍

Design, build, and operate backend services in Go and Node.js. Contribute to the architecture and evolution of our task queue and pipeline execution engine. Build and maintain internal tooling for observability, alerting, and incident response. Work with the data team to optimize query performance and database schema. Participate in an on-call rotation for critical production services.

What we are looking for

‍

• 4+ years of backend engineering experience in a production environment.
• Proficiency in at least one of Go, Rust, or Node.js.
• Experience designing and operating distributed systems at scale.
• Comfort with relational and non-relational databases, caching layers, and message queues.
• Strong debugging and incident response skills.

Bonus if you can

‍

Bring experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, or cloud infrastructure on AWS or GCP. Have worked on event-driven or stream processing architectures. Have contributed to open source infrastructure tooling.
